FAVE 5 ON 5 - 2017 AUGUST

On the fifth day of each month a group of photographers shares their favorite photos from the previous month.
It's a blog circle! At the end of this post there is a link to the next person. Read on and enjoy our favorites from August.

Ok. So this is kind of a cheat. These photos were actually taken a few days ago which technically makes them "September fave 5's". Also, I'll probably post more than 5. So it looks like I'm throwing out all of the rules this month. I just can't wait until next month to share, these photos need to be set free! So here we go!

COLOR!
People, it's a pop-up exhibit dedicated to COLOR!
I love color. My eyes are drawn to color and it's a reoccurring theme in my photography so I was really excited for my visit to the Color Factory.

What a fun experience this was. I was showered with rainbow confetti, I jumped into the largest yellow ball pit in America (I'm guessing) and I walked through thousands of rainbow ribbons.
Each new door led to a new color adventure.  Here are just a few images from that day.

And at the end I was gifted with a mini ice cream!

These were just a few of the photos I took. I also took several small videos which I'm hoping to post on instagram soon.

This was such a fun day. I would love to set up shop in one of the rooms and take photos of people all day. The people watching was almost as good as the exhibit!  There were so many thoughtful outfits all begging to be photographed.

If you would like to go to the Color Factory then I suggest getting on their mailing list to receive email notifications about their latest ticket releases. This is the second month they have been open and each time they have sold out. It's not impossible but it might take a few tries. Be flexible with your time and be ready to make a decision fast! Catch it while you can!

FAVE 5 ON 5 - 2017 APRIL

On the fifth day of each month a group of photographers shares their favorite photos from the previous month. It's a blog circle! At the end of this post there is a link to the next person. Read on and enjoy our favorites from April.

April was a fun month.
For spring break instead of heading to the sun we headed to the snow.
Oh and what snow!
Lake Tahoe did not let us down. While we were there it dumped all new fresh snow, white beautiful powdery snow that made the trees heavy.  For someone who hadn't seen snow for a couple of years this was magical. It was gorgeous.

I can't believe we were just in the snow only a month ago! Recently it's felt so much like summer around here. More hot days and flip flops are just around the corner.

Can't wait to see what Alison has in store! Hop on over to her fabulous site to view all of her beautiful photos for the month of April.

FAVE 5 ON 5 - 2017 MARCH

A quick trip into the city produced enough color for the whole month.
Let's face it, San Francisco is like candy for the eyes. So many sweet sights to see.
You'll see a mural here, and one over there. Clever signs and patterned ceilings surprises.
And when Karl the fog is away and the skies are blue it's the perfect day.

Here are my favorites from March.

This wins the best use of pink paint award.

This reminded me of someone else in our blog circle. Who could that be?

Even the walls have smiling faces.

I'm in love with this Mission Dolores ceiling. It is based on original Ohlone Indian basket designs and executed in vegetable dyes.  Such bold design painted hundreds of years ago!

I call this one "Boys in the City".

Mission Dolores under blue skies.

The city always has so much to offer. So thankful it's a close hop and skip away!

Keep on celebrating this fifth day of the month by looking at more fabulous photos!

FAVE 5 ON 5 - 2017 FEBRUARY

On the fifth day of each month a group of photographers shares their favorite photos from the previous month. It's a blog circle! At the end of this post there is a link to the next person. Read on and enjoy our favorites from February.

After a very rainy start to the new year it was nice to see blue skies.
And rainbows.
And fruits growing on trees.
And the sun shining.
And it's tulip season!

This image below seems so California to me.

I want to take this whole room home. Anthropology seriously wins in the game of in store displays.

First signs of spring!

Taking advantage of a break in the rain.

TULIPS are here! Love this time of year.

Breaking through the rain. If you look to the right you might be able to see that it was a double rainbow!

Spring is just around the corner, can you feel it?

FAVE 5 ON 5 - 2016 DECEMBER

On the fifth day of each month a group of photographers shares their favorite photos from the previous month. It's a blog circle! At the end of this post there is a link to the next person. Read on and enjoy our favorites from December.

Say goodbye to 2016 and HELLOOOO to 2017!!
Hope you all had a great holiday. This Christmas we traveled to Texas. Below are a few photos from one of our favorite places.

In December we traveled to Texas. What I love about Texas are the wide open spaces. You can drive for hours through the desert without a gas station or sign of life in sight.

In one of these wide open spaces is the small city of Fabens. We travel to Fabens once a year to visit the magical place of Cattleman's Steakhouse at Indian Cliffs Ranch.

This not only has the best steaks in the whole wide world (you can quote me on that) it also has large grounds with all kinds of animals, only a couple of which are pictured here.

We've been going for years and each time it brings back such good memories.

Wishing you all the best as this new year starts. I'm beginning 2017 with lots of hope and positive energy, hoping it will be enough to last the whole year through.

Let's see how Alison rounded up 2016 by visiting Alison's favorite photos for the month of December.
